More gifts from Asia!

I decided to blog again just before I leave :)
I love receiving souvenirs from places my friends have travelled to. I remember before they left, they'd ask everyone what we'd like from overseas. It's hard to say what you want, because you don't really know. Someone suggested eyelashes and yeah, now I have a lifetime supply of eyelashes LOL!
Gifts from overseas make me feel like I've been there. You know? I have something from that place which connects me to it. It's not the same as buying something here made from the country. My friends actually travelled there and hand picked these items for me, which makes it something special.
As mentioned in my last post, a few more friends of mine came back from Asia. And of course they showered us with more gifts!

From Vietnam
I thought that the art piece below was made out of stone, but I was quickly corrected when Ryan told us it was really made from eggshell. Are you for real?! I mean, I know that people make artworks out of sand and stuff, but eggshell? O_O I was more surprised that he bought us face masks! *pats head*
I laughed when Ryan handed me the Mr Midnight novel. Besides from the title, the entire book is in Vietnamese! I'm going to have such a hard time reading it, but I accept this challenge!

My close-enough translation: "Horror at midnight hour."

From Thailand and Cambodia
Jenny came home from her Asia trip with a funny welcome from Jeno and Mary. Instead of getting her a "Welcome home" balloon, they got her a "Welcome to Australia" one, which made her look like a refugee. LOL. I missed out going to the airport because I slept in :c
Mary and Jenny at the airport - Check out Jenny's sexy outfit, hehehe. Anyway, check out what she got usss!
I've always wanted overalls!
Elephants are apparently big in Asia. I think the shawl works well as a turban.

I've started to pack for my trip. My mom thinks that I am over-packing, so I had to put some clothes back. Even though I'm close to checking off my what-to-bring list, I feel like I am missing something. What if I run out of clothes or get hungry?!

I'm so prepared. It feels like I'm going on a school camping trip! I know I will miss home a lot even if it's only for a week. One day away from home, and I'm already missing my family! :'C
Okay, bye everyone! Take care!

Summer is finally here!

I go out a lot but I hardly ever take any photos! I bring my camera with me, but I end up having so much fun that I forget or can't be bothered to take photos. Meow.
I'm using the new blogspot interface thingy-ma-bob, so that's why my photos have captions boxed underneath them. This update is awesome! Why didn't I convert my blog earlier?! I'm always scared of changing things because of fear that I can't revert back. Anyway, my friends and I went thrifting last week and I scored some more awesome items. My room has shitty lighting so that's why my photos look like they were taken from my phone.

Chopped the sleeves off because it works better as a tank.
I'm not sure if this is meant to be a dress or a shirt. It's a bit long to be a shirt and too sheer to be a dress.
Gold glittery top
Here's a photo of what my mates and I made last week. So proud that we actually made this! Gotta love lamb chups!
I went a little crazy on the rosemary.
Soy milk and green tea/red bean ice cream waffles. Loveee the fish-shaped ones!
Bought nail polish in similar shades. I'm wearing Professor Plum at the moment. :D
Bondi burn!
I checked the weather on Saturday, and it said that Sunday was going to be super hot, so I rounded up a few friends to go to Bondi. I wanted to make the most of the day because it has been really gloomy in Sydney lately. It's been cold and raining nearly everyday here! What a lame Summer aye? Oh, and I wanted to go to the beach to tan my body. Lols.

Sunday was a really beautiful day. The sky was mad blue and the water was cool (and salty!). Usually I go to the beach to tan. I don't like to get wet because salt water makes my hair all knotty. This time I didn't care! I floated and doggy paddled far away from shore with Jeno. We nearly got knocked out by boogie boarders on a few occasions! Annoying kids!

Jeno and I, all changed and ready to get wet!

Found this cute little purple shell. I wanted to keep it but it had a creature inside of it!

Tanning Asians

Peter, Carissa, Ryan and Mary.

Our hero!

I soooooo got a tan. I'm like 2 shades darker.
Quick outfit shot! It was awkward taking these because people had to dodge to stay out of the picture.
I hope you guys are having an awesome Summer (or Winter)! This week is going to be a busy one! A few more friends are coming back from their trip to Asia, and I have to pack and figure out how to register for my tutorials. Why? Because next week I am going to Coff's Harbour. My friends and I got ourselves a house there near the beach. It better not rain! I'll be video recording and taking photos to update you guys on my week-long trip.

Stuff I bought + Gifts from Asia

I haven't shopped in a long long time. I shop online, but that doesn't really count because I'm just sitting at the computer. Last week I finally went shopping + thrifting! I went shopping and thrifting on Tuesday with Sophie, and shopping again with Sophie and Jeno on Thursday night. I didn't buy much, but it made me remember how much I love to shop. Besides not shopping in a long time, I haven't blogged in weeks! I didn't even make a new years post. You know, how people list things that they want to achieve this year and blah? My goals are them typical ones like, pass every subject, eat more veggies/fruits, get a stable job, sleep early... You don't want to read the rest. I mean, I bet you can guess the rest because it's that duhhh. Moving on, here's what I ended up buying on my two-day spree. Like I said, it's not a lot!

I like the back of this dress. I see caged dresses/bustiers everywhere!
Black skirt (thrifted)
Pink cross jumper + Twiggy print teeThese shots were kinda rushed. Love my Mickey Mouse ears. I literally wear them around the house and mom thinks I'm bonkers!
I AM BONKERS!@#$*
Gifts from Asia
Mary came back from her trip to Thailand and Vietnam bearing gifts for all!!! So many of my friends traveled overseas this holiday, and I'm stuck in Australia with the Kangaroos and Koalas (I kid). Maybe one day when I'm rich like them I can afford to go somewhere cool. I'd love to visit the states and Japan.

Model21 lashes!!! I love these lashes and was thinking about stocking up on some more.
Earrings! I'm loving the black cross ones.
An usagimimi headband and hair clip. I muzz retouch my roots!
Totes real sunnies, lols.
Hello Kitty! My friends know me too well.PJ top with cats all over it! I have no idea what "shubbery shubbery" means but it's cute.

One last thing before I sign out... HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sophie Pophie! She turned 20 recently. I feel so stupid that I forgot to take photos of her unwrapping her presents! In other words, I have no photos to show you guys. Anyway, I better find something to eat now before I faint.

Antho's BBQ + Another 11 Things Tag

Antho's BBQ
I've been going out sooo much lately I feel bad! When I mean go out, I mean go out and staying out! It's the holidays so I guess it's the normal thing to do. During uni I'd be cooped up at home so I am making the most of my break! I don't know if it's an Asian thing, but my parents really hate it when girls go out and sleep over. I mean, it's not like I'm sleeping over at a stranger's house or something! When it comes to guys, it's a different story. They can date, sleep over, drink and do what ever. Why?!?! Anywho...
Sophie and I took so many photos of ourselves with toys before the BBQ last week... =="
We seriously can't get enough of toys!!!!!!

Remember Trey Songz, our adopted toy husky?? {here} Boy he has grown!New toy friendz!
With Elmo in the spa ;D
Sophie Pophie and the scary baby. We took a lot more photos with this baby, doing evil things to it.
I swear it's gonna haunt us for being bad mamas!
More shots with Trey. The boys had their manly BBQ outside whilst us girls had a mini one inside.
Polaroids! The individual shots looked funny cos of the awkward angle lols.
Eeeeey Boi! Trey Songz is in the houze!Continued going through randoms until...Yeah, you can guess what happened here.Asian rice field workers!

Bunny tagged me to list and answer 11 things about myself. I was going to think up 11 questions but then I realised something and I looked back over my old post just to make sure. I've already done this tag!!! How funny!!! I'll just list up 11 things about myself and answer Bunny's questions because I've already made 11 questions and linked them to my friends. I don't have a lot of blog friends! *has no one else to link*
Here's a {link to my old post} with the 11 questions! A few people I've tagged didn't do the tag yet *glares* Jokes! Love ya long time!
11 things about Gerry:
1. I prefer dogs over cats even though my blog oozes cats! I just like how cats look, like I think they are cute and stuff, but I prefer to have a BIG doggie as a pet.

2. I hate hate HATE carrots! (sorry Bunny!) I can only eat them when they are in them Asian dishes all sliced up and drowned in vinegar! And that's only cos I can't taste the carrots!

3. I love reading and watching scary things. Anything that has anything to do with cannibalism and a zombie apocalypse is awesome! I seriously watch zombie movies alone.

4. I like to keep my nails long cos I have stubby azz fingers. They are so short!

5. I love Modern Talking!!! I find the lead singer crazy handsome and he rocked with long hair!

6. I speak Vietglish at home. I mix Vietnamese with English because it makes it easier to explain things to my parents. I can read every Viet word, just I don't understand all of them. =="

7. I've seen so many anime I've lost count. I use to keep a list but I lost it! My favourite animes include Full Metal Alchemist, Inuyasha, Claymore, Full Moon, and D.Gray Man. I like Bleach, Naruto and Fairy Tail too, but they drag on too long for me.

8. I have a beanie collection. I especially like beanies with big pom poms!

9. I eat really little! I can never finish a whole meal and it makes me feel bad...

10. I cut and dye my own hair cos I hate going to the salon. The last time I went was back in grade 9! I hated it because the ladies there talked too much. They told me that I have dead hair. FYI, hair when it grows from your scalp is dead cells. So everyone has dead hair.

11. I like to give random hugs. I hug my friends and family and they think it's awkward but I don't care. It reminds them how much I love them! Aha!

Bunny's 11 Questions:
1. If incarnation existed, what do you think you were in your previous life?
I was probably a gypsy! LOL I don't know :O

2. You're going on a dinner date with a hot guy/hot girl/your bf/your gf, what are you going to wear?
Something cute and sensible! Most likely a button-up blouse with a high waisted skirt and wedges.

3. What is your 'safety color' for clothes? (what color clothes do you tend to buy the most?)
White! And anything off white like beige and cream.

4. If you could keep an exotic animal, what would it be?
A white Siberian tiger! I'll be like Jasmine from Aladdin!

5. What is your best features?
I honestly just like my eye brows lol

6. Tell me one thing that will surprise me about your self!
Hmm... The fact that I was named after my mom's friend from the States?

7. Tell me something you absolutely Love!
ART! Especially manga art! I like to look at other mangaka's work to get inspiration.

8. Tell me something you absolutely Hate!
Spiders! Because they have an excessive amount of eyes and they're just foogly!

9. Your house is on fire! What's the first thing you would grab?
Photo albums!!!! Memories are very precious.

10. Clubbing or Pubs? Why?
Depends, but I'd usually choose to go clubbing because you can groove to music with your friends! Maybe it's because I hardly go to a pub. I imagine that people just sit and drink there.

11. After your shower, what do you use?
I don't actually have an after shower regime! I just come out of the shower feeling fresh and clean.

Thank you for tagging me Bunny dear! I had fun answering your questions and I hope you don't get angry at me for cheating (-_- ")
Today I will be going to a buffet in the city. Oh dear, I better starve myself!
I have a feeling this will be my last post for 2011, so Happy New Year!!!! Take care everybody!
*Oh one more thing! I've reached 200 followers!!! AAAAAAA! I'll plan a giveaway later :D

Vicky's 20th (1920s) + Gifts from Japan

A blast from the past
My friend Vicky had a 1920s themed party for her birthday last Friday. She chose the theme because she is 19 going on 20, get it?! Gosh, what a smarty pants! I googled up flappers to get some ideas on how to do my hair, and it seemed that every girl in that era had short hair! My hair is long so I had a difficult time pinning everything up. I had to practice a few days before the party to get it right. And finally... VOILA!
LinkWhere her party was held. The house looked really dated which was perfect for the theme!
This is what I wore! I ditched my cigarette stick soon after cos it broke.I made some new frands! And they were happy to take photos with me in the garden.
Check out the birthday gal in her white sparkly dress. Aww! And lookie the bday cake!
There was rock melon inside. I like the knife cos it looks like a sword! :D
Sophie, Thao and I abused the free photo booth. In one of the shots, my dress fell down LOL! Lucky no one saw. :$
We should of taken more photos!!!!
I had a great time at Vicky's because we took so many photos and I had fun dressing up. I thought I was over-dressed but when I saw everyone at the party, they were waaay more blingy and feathery! Dinner was good too! In my last post I said that soon I will be at dinners sipping on wine, and whaddaya know?! One week later I'm at a dinner sipping red wine and dressed all lady-like.

Gifts from Japan!!!
Jeno went to Japan a week ago and she came back with lots and LOTS of goodies for us! I didn't expect so much!!! She likes to spoil us. Thank you Jenoooo! Okay less writing, more pictures!
She got me this tea cup as a side present for looking after her guinea pig. Remember Pepper from my recent post? Yaps, I had to look after her for 10 days. She poops and pees A LOT!
This is how I display the cup on my shelf. It fits in with all my bric-a-brac.Mini anime figurine on a macaron! I don't mind that it's not my star sign.Hello Kitty chopsticks, Gummy paws, Domokun keyring, Meji white choc, and candy drops.
All the sweets from Japan! Mine mine mine!
As you can see, I was impatient and have already started to eat them before taking photos for my blog.
Dolly wink lashes and gradient nail polish!
It's even labelled and has instructions at the back so that silly billies like moi don't get things wrong.

I painted my nails yesterday. I reckon I needa put more bling on it!
Lychee and honey face masks! I'll use 'em this weekend when the girls come over. Xmas slumber party!Hello Kitty figurines in cute costumes! I HELLO KITTY!
Lastly, a manga art book! I LOVE IT! I'm totally going to be taking ideas from this book. Oh, there are some 18+ content in it too, but it's okay cos it's censored. Just gotta keep it away from young people and my mom!

I ordered the Coastal Scent Warm 88 palette not too long ago with Alice, and here it is! I used it for the Vicky's party btw, you can't really see, but I used peachy shades.
I bought the warm palette cos I don't like to go way out of my comfort zone when it comes to make up. I don't like to pack it on, I like to look natural but at the same time not too bare. I hope that makes sense! Anyway, this palette is awesome! I love the colors! Just the pan for each shade is so small! Oh well, I reckon it'll last me a life time. I just need to stock up on some eye shadow brushes now zzz.

Oh and here's a random video made at Jeno's house. Sophie and I love playing with toys...
